Awkward Intros
Chris I focused on having a good time. I think the hardest part is the anxiety building up.
Meredith I jammed to playlists called “pre-date hype” that I randomly found on Spotify.
Chris I arrived 10 minutes early and she arrived right on time.
Meredith The hostess told me he was there and took me to the table.
Chris I thought she was beautiful and had a wonderful smile. She went for the hug as I reached out my hand, not assuming a hug. Was a little awkward.
Meredith He was well dressed and had a welcoming smile.

Hot Topics
Chris We talked about all sorts of things: concerts, hobbies, our responses to the Cupid application, siblings, what our parents did, hot takes, the weird things we have eaten.
Meredith He loves to travel and has been to 30 countries. We talked about our favorite places and upcoming trips.
Chris We both like to hike and go to concerts.
Meredith We enjoy concerts, although our music taste is a bit different. We both love to try new things.
Chris The food was very delicious and I would go back.
Meredith We ordered two things and split them. One was pork shoulder something and one was beef something. The names were all very long and in Greek, so absolutely no idea. They brought us a shot of Greek liquor and olive oil ice cream at the end. The food was delicious.

Chris There were some moments of silence but overall I think it went OK. I enjoy odd questions so I am unsure if I weirded her out at all in an attempt to gauge her level of weirdness. One was a question my friend group had discussed this past weekend about consensual cannibalism. She didn’t seem to be weirded out, but maybe.
Meredith He was easy to talk to and good at introducing new topics to the conversation. I felt comfortable and stayed comfortable for the rest of the date.
On the Same Page
Chris I wish we could have continued the date, but the bar was closing. I offered to drive her back home and she paused for a few seconds before saying she would take the T. I walked her to the T stop so that she wouldn’t be waiting late at night alone. I asked for her number and she said sure, and then the T arrived. She gave me a one-armed hug so I am unsure how she was feeling.
Meredith We said goodbye with a hug. When we first met, I went in for a hug while he went for a handshake, which was a funny little awkward moment so this felt like redemption.
Second Date?
Chris I hope so! I texted her to say I’d love to take her out again and she responded that she will let me know.
Meredith I’m not sure, but I would be open to it.
